Have you ever played Balderdash?
It’s a game where you are given an unusual word, and have a chance to write your own definition for it. All the definitions are read, along with the actual definition, and everyone votes on which definition they think is correct.
You get points for choosing the right definition, and for having people vote for yours! (If you’re a real smarty-pants and actually know the definition, you can get points for that too!)
We played Balderdash with our teens and pre-teen recently, and I thought I’d share our Top Ten Answers! No, I’m not sharing what the actual words were…
Our Top Ten Balderdash Answers
- A shoe with gum stuck to the bottom.
- The fetus of reptiles, also called reptinian.
- A sheep’s voice.
- A capital of Siberia.
- Bad smelling armpits.
- An edible root originating in Africa which is known for both its distinct flavor as well as its colorful flowers.
- Some dog dangling from a tree.
- A way of saying Canada in a different language.
- A slang word for blah blah.
- A church inside a pyramid with dead bodies.

I’ll guess 6, an edible root. And I’ll guess the word was “cassava”.
I LOVE this game!!!! But it got to the point where no one wanted to play with me anymore because I always won, LOL! Ummm….I say the right answer has to be #2 (unless you have a ridiculously clever person in your household!!!)
